Well, fuck.

She won her appeal. She’s getting a new damn trial.

Please say a prayer for all of Alex’s family today. They’re going to need all the strength they can muster.

Deep Inhale…

… *whoooooooooo* There. That should get the dust off this puppy.

As it was so subtly pointed out to me by someone on Googlechat last night, it’s been two weeks since my last blog entry. I didn’t plan for it to go that long, but sometimes life has other plans, you know?

So, since we […]

Massively Multipurpose Catch-Up Post

First of all, happy birthday to… me! That’s right – as of today, I am 34 years old. Maybe one of these days, I’ll even get around to growing up. (Oh, stop laughing. I didn’t say it was likely.)

Second – check out that Hats for Alex counter! Since Weezalana started her contest, I’ve gotten […]

Hats for Alex Contest

Like I mentioned yesterday, the fabulous Weezalana has taken the Hats for Alex project to her (very sweet and generous) heart and is running a little contest to help me meet the goal of 250 hats for this year.

You can see all the details (and the prizes she is offering) here, but let me […]

So, you may not have been aware of this, but I’ve been in Pittsburgh for the past week. Mom and Dad came down for Thanksgiving (which blossomed from just the four of is to include our friends Hyon and Drew, their 18-month-old Clint, and Drew’s parents Mare and Paco for dinner as well as our […]

Hats for Alex

You probably remember my telling you about my dear, dear friend Kirsten, who lost her baby boy Alex last December. More than anything, I’ve wanted to do something in memory of this sweet baby who was taken away from his family way too soon. After a conversation with some folks on the Knittyboards, all of […]

Happy Birthday, Alex

See this beautiful little boy? His name is Alex. Today would have been his first birthday, but he died on December 8 of last year. His mother Kirsten is my dearest friend in the world, and my heart breaks every day at the thought that this wonderful little guy was taken from her.

Alex was […]
