About Me

I'm a married knitter, crocheter, and newbie spinner living in the Maryland suburbs with my photographer- computer geek hubby, 3 cats, and 3 dogs. And yarn. A LOT of yarn. Just ask my hubby.

Yup, I’m a Twit!

No, the frigging shawl isn’t done yet. Three thousand stitches, people. It’s a LOT to bind off. So, I’m still slogging through that, and nothing else is progressing at the moment.

I did, however, finally get some pictures of my finished Cherie Amour.
So, there we have it! I’m really quite thrilled with how it came out. The yarn (Brooks Farm Solana) is wonderfully soft, and I love the colors. You may notice that I tweaked the sleeves a little.
I didn’t care for the original sleeves, so I did them my own way. I picked up stitches at the armhole and worked them toward the cuff, for one thing. I also changed them so they were bell sleeves. They are in the same stitch pattern as the top of the bodice until a little bit past my elbows, at which point I switched to the smaller needles and 2×2 ribbing like the waistline of the sweater itself. I worked the ribbing for the same length as it is in the bodice, and then did the cuffs in the same pattern as the bottom of the sweater.

Pictures of Spanish Dancer will follow whenever I finish binding the damn thing off.
